Song “Subtle Beast”
You slink through the centuries
with your triangle eye.
Your only super power
is the power of lies.
Of course, you’d be bitter
you were told long ago.
You’re never moving up
you’re only going below.
So you creep through the valleys
finding dusty little men.
And fashion them as tools
as a means to an end.
You throw them some bones
that they can gnaw in their homes.
It’s a comfortable life
until they end up below.
You’ve got boots on the ground
with a circle and square.
You’ve been calling their shots
and they’re not even aware.
They write their little plans
on their parchments of reeds.
And think the whole time
we’re completely free.
You got powers of suggestion
like a whispering ghost.
That tickle the flesh
of willing ignorant hosts.
And if the flesh doesn’t work
you have the weapon of fear.
Or pride will make them slide
into an evil career.
Your fall was in the garden
tempting Adam and Eve.
You told her she could be like God
and made her believe.
Now they know the difference
between evil and good.
Which causes them to reason
with what was once understood.
Then came your day of reckoning
I’m sure it still stings.
You were force to bite the dust
and then he clipped your little wings.
Now you slide on your belly
with your tongue that is split.
Marinating all the people
for your barbeque pit.
You can slither up a tree
so slow the birds cannot see.
With the wind in their breasts
they sing the song of the free.
When they leave their eggs behind
to gather up their needs.
You’re like the bark of the branch
with your eye on their seeds.
But with such a tiny mouth
what could you possibly do?
But it grows it grows enormous
as you swallow your food.
So you slither away
leaving the little birds blue.
But the day is coming
when the eagles tread on you.
Lyrics by Kurt Daniels
"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,” says Yahweh." (Isa 54:17 WEB)
…“He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1Pe 3:10-12 WEB)
