Regarding Teachers and Preachers:
- Are you being taught to become more like Jesus?
- Is the teacher or preacher bringing glory to God or to themselves?
- Do you feel that you are growing in your understanding of scripture?
- Is your relationship with the Lord being encouraged?
Dealing with Spiritual Abuse:
Seek guidance from your Heavenly Father regarding this issue. Ask Him if He wants you to address the situation or if it’s time for you to move on. Take a moment to examine your heart: are you approaching this from a place of love? It’s important to seek advice from mature believers and be cautious in your communication, as God does not condone gossip.
If you feel called to confront a particular issue, do so with wisdom and discernment. Take the time to study the matter and understand other perspectives. Pray for guidance and clarity as you prepare. Manage your emotions, and think carefully about how to express yourself with compassion and respect.
Remember that, even with the best intentions, restoring a relationship with a brother or sister may not always lead to the desired outcome. Approach the situation with humility, keeping in mind that God has the final say, regardless of the result. Focus on Him and be open to letting the Holy Spirit guide your words.
If you feel led to leave a situation, pray for those you are leaving behind. Ask God to help you forgive any leaders who may have caused you harm. Take the time to release any bitterness or anger to facilitate your healing. After you leave, it’s essential to seek inner peace. Spend time in prayer and study God’s Word, as this will help you find stability. Remember, regardless of the outcome, Jesus is your King, God is your Father, and the Holy Spirit is your Comforter. You will be okay.
